I felt like a real paparazzi photographer today. Sneaking and zooming. Hiding out in the bushes .Did the little critters even see me photographing them and if so , did they even care :D.
Its been a while since I have photographed a bit of nature so today I put it on my list of things to do. We had a bit of rain and I found little mister lizard here just kind of chilling out after the shower. And though lizards are not my favourite subject I just loved how the stems of the grass led into the frame and how the grass heads added to the beautiful background.
I loved this little guys bluish antennae and the weird flower he checking out.
And this long necked beauty was just hanging out by the side of the road before she just sauntered away out of sight, her neck swaying interestingly as she walked.
Go out and check out a bit of your own local wildlife. And though they may not be so “wild” or interesting at first, try to get an angle or composition when you photograph them that makes them stand out.

So I said to myself, Self, your black and white photography needs work!
I Love black and white photography but never seem to be fully satisfied with my end result so I decided to make a conscious effort to work on it. Well, practice makes perfect. I was approached by http://www.dphotographer.co.uk/ about getting 4 of my black and white images published in their upcoming magazine. 4 images and one of them was the big shot (see above . Left page, first image) Yeahhhhh!!!!!! I feel like dancing :D.
So I say to you, when you see an area in your photography that you are dissatisfied with, don’t just let it die, jump on it, rev it up, get it going, and practice practice practice. With hard work and God’s guidance and help you will get there.
Well, I had my first baby boy!!. Actually, my first baby boy session. I, of course, had no little boy hats so the week prior to the session I had to get busy with my knitting and crotchet. It all came together really well and baby Marcus was just fantastic to work with.
What a fantastic month November 2011 was!! Published twice!!!
Firstly, my first front cover ever was on the November/December 2011 issue of Ewoman magazine Go out if you are in the Caribbean and pick up a copy of Ewoman today. It is just a fantastic mix of advice and articles geared towards the Caribbean woman. What a privilege it was to be a contributor to this project, even though it was just as one of the photographers. Absolutely fabulous new publication that I can see really getting big in the near future!
Secondly, I had 4 of my photos featured in the Color Tips section of Digital Photographer magazine. This is a worldwide publication with its office based in the UK. I subscribe to this magazine and I must say I think is wonderful!! I look forward to it every month as it it packed with great articles, tips, techniques, and a free disc that has Photoshop tutorials, among other things, on it. I would say to go out and give this publication a try if you are a photographer trying to keep in the know with what’s new, as well as trying to improve or maintain your current skill level.
